The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe summary / blog 26

Summary
During WWII, kids were all evacuated to rural areas for avoiding the air bombs. The four kids in the Pevensie family, Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan were also evacuated. Peter is the eldest, then Susan, then Edmund, and Lucy is the youngest.
On a normal day when the kids were playing hide-and-seek, Lucy hid in a wardrobe and found it magical; it connects to another world. In the magic world where every single leaf was covered by snow, Lucy met a faun called Tumnus. He invited her to come to his little log cabin for a hot tea, and told her that where she came is called Narnia, where was ruled by the white witch; In Narnia, animals can talk and think like human, for example he himself. It really shocked Lucy for a while, and then she found it very interesting to be in here and make new friends like Tumnus. After the tea, Tumnus confessed that bringing her to his house without noticing the white witch was going against her intention, and he might be caught because of that. He then sent Lucy back and told her not to come back.
Lucy returned back to her real life and told the story to her siblings, but unfortunately no one believed her. They tried to go through the wardrobe but failed, and thought Lucy was a liar. At the next time when they were playing hide and seek, Edmund followed her to Narnia. He met the white witch accidentally; after knowing that Edmund has three siblings, the witch, who called herself the “Queen” promised him to make him heir only if he brought his siblings to her castle. After he returning, he then realized that the Queen was the witch in Lucy’s story. Very soon, the four kids went through the back panel of the wardrobe and arrived Narnia. When Lucy led them to Tumnus’s house, she saw a note of the witch noticing that he was arrested for bringing human to Narnia.
They met the Beavers, and they told the kids that there’s a prophecy that when two daughters of Eve and two sons of Adam had arrived and met Aslan the great lion and the rightful king, then the witch’s magic would collapse. Edmund betrayed them when they were looking for Aslan, and sneaked to the witch’s castle. He told the witch that Aslan might return, which made her very furious. Meanwhile, the Santa Claus had given the other three kids their magical gifts. Aslan rescued Edmund from the witch, and the four kids reunited. Aslan died for trading his life with Edmund’s, for saving him from the petrifaction state. After the witch acknowledging Aslan’s death, she started the war immediately. Aslan came alive because of Lucy and Susan crying over his body, and told them the weakness of the witch. The kids then won the battle and became Kings and Queens of Narnia; they had also established a deep friendship with Aslan the lion. The magic of the witch collapsed, and all the Narnians loved their new rulers. One day while the kids were riding horses in the forest, they came back to the place where the wardrobe is. They fell through the back panel; their gorgeous clothes disappeared, as well as their crown. Only a few second had passed in their original world.

Because of the experiences in Narnia, the four kids in Pevensie family grew from cowardly immature kids to someone who can take care of theirselves and have great leaderships. Especially for Edmund; before he met Aslan, the only things he cared were attention from others and benefits for himself; after he was saved, he realized his personal value, and the importance of friendship.
